🔹人生を変えた“丸”という言葉

産業廃棄物という言葉から、どこか冷たく堅い世界を思い浮かべる人も多いかもしれない。だが、河本貴裕さんの語る「環境」や「会社」は、どこまでも人間的で、あたたかい。彼が率いる「丸商」という社名には、当初明確な意味はなかった。けれど今、それは彼自身の在り方と重なるキーワードになっている。

「皆が豊かになるような世界を作りたい。どこかだけが良くて、どこかが犠牲になるような関係じゃなくて、みんなが“丸く”つながって、循環していくような在り方を目指したい。」

そんな言葉からは、“経営者”というより、未来を描く建築家のような視点が伝わってくる。

🔹「ゴミ」を資源に。「捨てる」から「つなぐ」へ

丸商の強みは、廃棄物を「ただ処理する」のではなく、“価値ある原料”として再び世の中に戻していく仕組みにある。

「普通はお金を払って廃棄物を処理するけれど、うちは、それが誰かにとっての“有価物”になるように繋いでいく。処分じゃなくて、活かす流れを作るんです。」

単なる業務委託や仲介ではなく、現場（工場）側の立場に立ち、最適な方法をともに考える伴走型の存在。それは、モノの循環だけでなく、信頼の循環も生み出している。

🔹信頼は、小さな約束の積み重ね

河本さんの言葉には、一貫して「信頼」という言葉が流れている。初めての取引相手でも、見るのは実績よりも“小さな約束を守れるかどうか”だという。

「信頼って、結局人と人の関係。直感もあるけれど、信頼できる関係って、小さな約束をどれだけ積み重ねてきたかでできていくと思う。」

その信頼を社内にも浸透させるために、彼が始めた取り組みの一つが「ありがとうカード」だ。社員同士が日々小さな感謝をメモにして渡し合う。チームごとにポイントを競い、表彰もする。

「本当に大事なのは、大きなイベントじゃなくて、毎日ちょっとしたことを積み重ねること。それが、信頼を育てると思っています。」

🔹“詰める文化”との決別。教育への挑戦

父の会社での修行時代、怒られ、詰められ、やり方も教わらず飛び込んだ営業現場。「給料泥棒」とまで言われながらも、彼は逃げなかった。だが、自らが経営者になり、社員を持つようになって、気づいたことがある。

「当たり前だと思ってた教え方で、社員がどんどん辞めていった。それで初めて、“当たり前”じゃないって気づいたんです。」

社員教育は、今でも苦手だという。だが、だからこそ彼は逃げずに学び、分解し、仕組みにしていく。抽象的な「コンサルティング力」や「営業力」も、要素に分けてトレーニングするフォーマットを作っている。

「誰もが“これをやればいい”と動けるように、共通言語をつくっていく。地味だけど、地道にやってます。」

🔹「思いやり」は、環境にも、人にも、そして自分にも

「もし1日だけ小学校の先生になれるなら？」と聞くと、迷わずこう答えた。

「思いやりの授業がしたいですね。」

環境への配慮も、ゴミを分別することも、社員との関係性も、すべては「思いやり」につながっているという。印象的だったのは、自分の内面と向き合う姿勢にも、同じ“思いやり”が向けられていたことだ。

「今まで、自分が何を感じてるか全然わかってなかった。人のことは考えられるのに、自分の気持ちには鈍感だった。でも、自分の感情にこそ、価値があるって気づいたんです。」

🔹“旅”の途中にいる経営者

「あなたの人生を映画にしたら？」という問いに、彼はこう答えた。

『大切なものを見つける旅』

まだ旅の途中。けれど、その道のりの中で、彼は確かに「小さな思いやり」を、世界に循環させている。

Interview with Takahiro Kawamoto, President of Marusho Co., Ltd.

🔹What “Marusho” Means

Mr. Kawamoto’s company name is Marusho, which means “circle business.” At first, he chose this name with no special meaning. But now, it reflects how he wants to live and lead.

“I want to make a world where everyone can be happy. Not just one side winning and the other losing. I want to create a circle where we all grow together.”

He also works in the environmental field. For him, the circle means recycling and connection.

🔹Turning Waste into Value

His company works with factories. They help find the best way to handle waste. But they don’t just throw it away.

They ask: Can someone use this again?

“Some people pay money to get rid of waste. But sometimes, it has value. We connect it to someone who needs it.”

This is how they help the environment, and help people too.

🔹Trust Is Everything

Mr. Kawamoto talks a lot about trust. To him, trust starts from small promises.

“Even small actions matter. If we keep our promises, trust will grow.”

Inside the company, they write Thank You Cards to each other every day. This helps build good communication.

“Big events are fun, but small things every day are more important. That’s how we make real connections.”

🔹Changing the Way He Leads

He worked in his father’s company for many years. At that time, the work culture was very strict. People had to be strong. No mistakes allowed.

“I thought this was normal. But when my staff started to leave, I realized I needed to change.”

Now, he works to support his team. He says that training people is hard for him, but he tries.

“Telling people to ‘do better’ is not enough. I try to break big ideas into small skills, and show them how to improve step by step.”

🔹Kindness for People and the Planet

If he could teach at an elementary school for one day, he would teach a class about kindness.

“Kindness connects everything—people, work, and the environment. Even removing the label from a bottle can be kindness. That small action helps someone.”

🔹A Journey to Know Himself

When asked, “What title would you give your life movie?”

He said:

“A Journey to Find What Matters.”

He used to focus only on results. But now, he listens to his own feelings more.

“I didn’t care about how I felt before. But I learned: how I feel has value too.”
